   Policy Changes which Affect Charities

We have today received a letter from Nick Hurd explaining some of the changes that are either in process or are in the pipeline as part of the Government's "Big Society" push to increase voluntary and charity work.

The letter is very lengthly outlining many details, but in summary, here are some of the changes which may affect charities and voluntary groups in Hampstead and Kilburn:

  • There will be Red Tape Cutting including a new approach to Health and Safety, and a review of CRB and Vetting and Barring Schemes.
  • A Review to simplify Gift Aid processes
  • Applications are open to access the new Community First  and Community Development Foundation funds.
  • There will be moves to make it easier for charities to compete for public sector contracts.
