   New Entrance for West Hampstead Station

West Hampstead StationWe have an update on the status of the new station at West Hampstead. The building of the new station is progressing well and is on target to open in December as planned.

On the 14th November the existing station entrance will close emporarily for work to construct new ticket gates and access will be via Iverson Road and the new footbridge. The new station will be in action from 12th December 2011 and will feature: 

  • A new stationbuilding
  • Greater capacity to ease congestion
  • Two entrances instead of one
  • A second, wider footbridge with lifts to all platforms, suitable for people with disabilities
  • Platforms for longer 12-carriage traing (arriving 2018)

These updates are part of the Thameslink Programme to improve services at West Hampstead.
