We received notification from Margaret Beckett MP this week that there is now an updated leaflet called 'Are you worried about your mortgage?' available for people who are concerned about keeping up with their mortgage. The Government is doing everything it can to prevent people losing their homes to repossession. The leaflet outlines new information on:

• Changes to the Support for Mortgage Interest (SMI)
• The Government's Mortgage Rescue Scheme
• The Homeowners Mortgage Support Scheme
• The pre-action Protocol which came into effect in November 08

The leaflet will be available at Courts, Money Advice agencies, Lenders and Local Authorities throughout England. You can also download it from the NHAS website, or order a copy from NHAS on 0844 515 2268.
