Glenda was delighted to attend the opening of Keats House in Hampstead on the 14th September 2009. Keats House is where the poet John Keats lived between 1818 and 1820 and is the setting which inspired some of his most famous poetry. The house is where he wrote the famous 'Ode to a Nightingale' and fell in love with Fanny Browne, the girl next door. From this house he travelled to Rome where he died of Tuberculosis at the tender age of just 25.
The lovely sunny weather meant it was a splendid day for the official opening of the newly restored Keats House. The magnificent refurbishment is a testimony not only to the Corporation of the City of London and National Lottery funding, but also to the many friends and supporters who have been so dedicated to see this restoration so successfully completed.
