Mayor Gives Green Light to CO2 charge to Tackle Climate Change

LandroverThe Mayor of London has approved a tough scheme to tackle climate change. The scheme means that Band G vehicles (high powered sports cars and luxury vehicles) will pay a daily charge of £25 to drive into the central London Congestion Charge Zone. On the other hand, cars with the lowest CO2 emissions (band A and B) will receive a 100% discount, encouraging people to use less polluting cars in central London.

The scheme is a key part of the Mayor's Climate Change Action Plan, which aims to reduce London CO2 emissions by 60% by 2025.
