Yes, Gordon Brown is
serious, but as he said, there’s a lot to be serious about. His
speech to party conference showed to the doubters and nay-sayers,
what those of us who have never doubted him know.
His passionate
commitment to this country and all it’s people. His passionate
commitment to this country and all it’s people. His unwavering
belief in the fundamental values of our party. A fair future. A
fair chance. Fair rules and, a fair say. For all. Not the few; but
for all. From the beginning of life to the end.
Extending free
nursery places to all 2 year olds. Eliminating child Poverty by
2020 and enshrining that pledge in law. Enabling a million more
families to access the internet and broadband. Billions of pounds
invested in medical research so this country can lead the way in
beating disease. No more prescription charges for those battling
cancer and over the next few years, no charges for any sufferer of
long term illness. And for those, as Gordon said ‘rebuilt Britain
from then ashes of war’, pensions linked to earnings, including
equality for women, a greater protection against the costs of
care.
All as the PM said, causes are
worth fighting for. Britain is NOT broken, and Gordon Brown, with
his honesty, integrity, experience and humanity is the man to make
the future better and greater for all of us.
