October is the
International Walk to School month, and pupils across the UK will
be encouraged to explore the health benefits of regular walking.
Only one-third of boys and girls aged 2 - 11 achieve the
recommended level of activity beneficial to their health through
activity undertaken outside of school (Health Survey for England
2002).
This campaign will make a big impact not only on the health of
children, but also on pollution and congestion levels, thereby
greatly reducing a household's carbon emissions, and ultimately
doing something positive to stop Climate Change. We hope that our
constituents will be interested in taking part in this great
initiative, which is run by Living Streets. You can get more
