Half Price Bus and Tram Travel

TFL LOGO JPEGThe Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, has launched a scheme which means that up to 250,000 of the least-well-off Londoners can now benefit from half price bus and tram travel.  The initiative entitles all Londoners on Income Support to receive half-price bus and tram travel, including lone parents, carers, long-term sick people and disabled people.  These means that those Londoners on the lowest income will pay 45p for a single bus journey, which is less than a quarter of the £2 cash fare.

The initiative follows an agreement signed last year by the Mayor, Transport for London and Venezuelan Oil company Petroleos de Venezuela Europa, for fuel for the Capital's bus fleet.  For more details of the initial, please visit www.tfl.gov.uk
