We have received
notification from Network Rail that there are planned works in our constituency later this year as part of a wider project to upgrade the North London Line Railway. This is a £300m scheme to be
delivered by Network Rail as part of the Olympic Delivery Authority's transport plans for 2012. It will enable more frequent and longer trains by the end of 2011 on the following London
overground lines:
- Stratford and Richmond
- Gospel Oak and Barking
- Willesden High Level and Clapham Junction
- Watford to Euston
Between September and November 2008 a number of works will take place including the upgrading of Hampstead Heath and a series of bridge reconstruction around Sussex Way, Albert Road, and Shrubland
Road. This involves the closure of some parts of the rail in our constituency. However, there are also going to be a series of improvement works on the Thameslink route every weekend until
23rd March 2008. No trains will operate through central London on these days. For more details of these changes, please visit http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ where you can type in your route and day of journey, and it will tell you whether there are planned engineering works on
that day.
