Glenda would like to make sure her constituents are aware of the forthcoming 2011 Census. Census day is 27th March and it is vital that everyone completes the questionnaire which will be posted out to households from the 7th March.
The Census provides population statistics from national to neighbourhood level, for a range of users which are used to plan billions of pounds worth of public spending each year. Obtaining the best quality population statistics is therefore essential.
For the first time the Census questionnaire can be completed online or by hand and returned by post using a prepaid envelopes. Assitance will be provided to the public via telephone helplines from 4 March or via an online help system:

There are many accessibility tools and materials available, such as guidance booklets in many different langugages, large print questionnaires, audio guidance cassettes/CDs and British Sign Language video guides. |
