   Reduce Your Junk Mail

recycling logoIn response to concerns that lots of you have raised about climate change and recycling, I thought you may find this useful.  In November 2006 a new internet-based service called www.itsmypost.com was released.  On this website consumers can regain control of the mail they recieve. You can choose to opt out of mailings from specific brands, whilst at the same time receive mail from those brands that you wish to hear from.

Findings from a recent YouGov survey stated that 75% of people would like the ability to choose which companies they wish to receive direct mail from.  www.itsmypost.com has two sign-up options.  Consumers can communicate their mailing preference from brands by post or email.  You can register online, create a personal profile, then choose from the lists of the top 400 mailers on the site who you DO NOT want to receive from.  You can then print off the letters, sign them, and post them to the appropriate brands.  Companies who receive 'no mail' notifications are then obliged to comply with the consumer's request through section 11 of the Data Protection Act 1998.  Click on the link above if you are interested in finding out more.

I continue to do all I can to campaign about Environmental issues.  If you would like to sign up to our mailing list on climate change, please contact us requesting to receive information, or sign up below.
